Jennifer Scott-Brown

Jennifer Brown is a doctoral candidate in the Instructional Design and Technology program at Old Dominion University, and is the Youth and Family Services Manager for Suffolk Public Libraries. She currently serves on a dedicated team for designing, developing, and implementing a culture of learning for the library system. Jennifer is a board member on Suffolk’s Early Childhood Development Commission, Healthy Families, the School Media and Technology division of AECT, and is the co-chair of the Thriving Families working group of the Mins 9 to 5 regional early childhood initiative. Jennifer’s research interests include cognitive apprenticeships, informal learning, the systematic development of makerspaces, open educational resources, and working toward aligning library science curriculum with the practical needs of the profession.
